October 2022

Ben gave his full professor talk

While not directly related to me, my PhD advisor gave his talk for promotion to full professor.  His talk was titled “It’s a gut feeling: the evolutionary ecology of host-microbiota interactions.” and included a lot of work that I had the pleasure of being involved in. Congratulations to Ben on an excellent talk!

Selected as ISU’s October GradBird Scholar!

I was thrilled to be selected as Illinois State University’s GradBird Scholar for October. This is an award designed to highlight the work being done on campus and project it to a wider audience.

Selected for the Garden Club of American Centennial Pollinator Fellowship

I had the honor of being selected for the GCA Centennial Pollinator Fellowship. Even though this occurred during the COVID 19 pandemic I am thankful for the funding and the recognition.

May 2019

Award a Graduate Student Excellence Grant R.C. Lewontin Early Award from Society for the Study of Evolution

This was my first external grant I received, and it was amazing and a rush to read the award letter. I had put a lot of work into refining the project I had proposed for this, so it was great to see that effort recognized.
